Exploring Creativity and Self Expression
Students are given different prompts, ideas and topics to work with that they put a personal spin on. Students learn to make choice about subject matter and composition. As students work on creative projects they learn to ask why, to think about what they are saying with their artwork. These type of projects create thoughtful and critical thinking artists.
Interacting with Art History
Learning from Masters, looking at human history, developing personal connections, and understanding other cultures through art. These projects dive into different art periods and the development of people and art throughout time. Students learn why artwork was made during different periods of time and how it effects us today. These projects help students put themselves into the shoes of another artist and dive into their subject matter, style, and concerns.
